A Tee-Pee Card

Last Christmas my crafty friend Moz sent me an interestingly shaped Christmas card.  It's intrigued me for almost an entire year, and eventually today I decided to try and figure out how to make one myself.  I was able to figure it out from her card but there are numerous You Tube tutorial videos should you want to look it up.

A friend needs some prayers after some rather complicated surgery and since I was thinking of her whilst I was trying to figure out this card shape I decided to make it for her.

(I am also going to enter it into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is "Anything Goes".)

I used PTI cardstock, patterned paper as well as the flower stamp.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  I dry embossed one of the panels, you can just see that bit sticking out on the right.  I had forgotten how much I liked some of these embossing folders.

I traced the word "prayers" with some glossy accent, a trick I learned watching my friend Lisa!

Although I do like how this turned out, in my mind it's not really a practical card.  Don't get me wrong, it folds flat and will fit in a standard envelope....but how the heck do you explain to the recipient how to make it stand this way, that there is a small slit in one of the back panels to slot the one layer into.  So I may just hand deliver this one!  I cut out a piece of white copy paper and wrote my message on it and adhered it to the one inside panel.

Wishing you a great weekend!

Good on you, Brenda! I purchased a card shaped like this in Colorado at a gift shop and thought I would try to make one like it. Never did. Yours turned out beautifully and I know your friend will love it.

I think these are fun....I often use them for Eiffel Tower cards. If you use stick-on Velcro rather than a slit, I think folks understand it better. This is lovely and the message is so sweet.......glad you tried it.
