Flying Stars goes Mono!

I know, twice in one day! But I had to give it a try! Penny Black has a 24 hour monochromatic challenge going on and I really wanted to challenge myself by finding a way to use that one and only PB stamp AND go monochromatic!

If you don't like green it's probably better to leave now!  Having said that, please come again, I promise not to make anything too green for some time!

Paper: PTI cardstock
Ink: Shabby Shutters & Peeled Paint DI; Versamark; Pear Tart Memento ink
Stamps: Penny Black; PTI (sentiment)
Other: PTI Edgers Die #2; Clear Embossing powder; Crinkle ribbon; Brad & Flower (stash); PTI Tiny Tags Die

I used the PB stamp and stamp-a-majigged away to create the frame on the white notecard.  The actual stamped panel was made by stamping the image with versamark and embossing with clear embossing powder. I then used the resist technique and distressed the image with the two green distress inks.  I also stamped the white paper flower with the same PB stamp using Pear Tart ink from Memento.

Ok, that's me for today, I just cannot talk about this green anymore!  But don't get me wrong, I actually kind of like what I did.  Oh yes, there is a teeny tiny dragonfly hidding in there, it's from a Hero Arts set, I hope PB do not mind, but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do when she has limited supplies, be inventive and improvise! Ciao!

Caardvarks Last Challenge

It's rather sad to hear that Caardvarks is having their last challenge, I am not really sure what that really means or the reasons why, but they have been a great challenge site filled with lots of inspiration from a large community of very talented people!

It's been a long time since I last participated in one of their challenges, but I felt like something pink tonight, so I decided to make a monochromatic pink card (or two)! Here it is:

Paper: PTI, Neenah Solar White
Stamps: Hero Arts; PTI (sentiment)
Ink: Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Other: Pearls from old stash, Clear Embossing Powder, Nestability die

I used the Floral Brocade Cling stamp from Hero Arts and stamped it using Versamark on white cardstock.  I then applied some clear embossing powder and used the heat tool on it.  Then I inked the entire image with the Worn Lispstick Distress Ink and wiped away any excess ink from the embossed surface with a damp cloth.

I double matted the image onto cardstock.  I used the top part of a Nestability Die (I think it's No.8) to create the piece on which to stamp the sentiment.  I inked the edges of this piece with some more distress ink and adhered it behind the stamped panel.

A few gems at the bottom and I was happy!

But seeing as this is a new stamp for me, I just had to play some more!  I made the same card but stamped the image with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and Pearlised Water onto water colour paper for a very different look, here it is:

Thank you so much for popping past!  I hope that you have a wonderful day!  Today I need to put together the final touches for my little ones' birthday party tomorrow!
