Crafty Day

My sister and her two friends came over yesterday afternoon for some crafty time.  I presented them with two sketches and the theme of "Valentine" and off they went.  They made so many cards that I landed up simply taking a groupd photo of each of their creations to share with you otherwise there would simply be too many.  Once they had made their Valentine cards they moved off into their own direction.

Here are my sister's creations (please excuse the lighting, it was late in the day):

I just adore that Valentine's card with the hot air balloons.

Here are Desrae's creations:

Desrae is mad about birds and we always tease her.  No matter how many times we tell her "no birds today", we never win!  I love her little card with the buttons!

Here are Jeanette's creations:

Look at that gorgeous shaped card in the centre with the lovely Stampin' Up bird she paper pieced!  And that Hero Arts monster card for her son!

They were quite an inspiration to watch!

I made a few cards and I'll share a Valentine's card I made for one of Natasha's friends:

Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah; designer paper: "Lucky in Love" by MME
Ink: Memento Yuxedo Black; Copic markers
Stamps: Hero Arts "Sweet Wonderful You"
Other: Spellbinders Nestabilitie; stickles; gem (HA)

It's been a while since I used this little Hero Arts girl and also since I have picked up my Copics (naughty me)!  I'm really loving shaped cards at the moment so my Nestabilities had a lot of usage yesterday!

I paper pieced her clothes and popped up her blouse.  I cut off her head and replaced it at an angle with some pop dots.

(Oh yes, I made a yummy Pear and Almond Tart for tea but it nearly got eaten up by the monkeys, luckily Natasha alerted me to them being in the yard and she ran around the house closing every window!  I knew they would go for the tart so I ran into the kitchen to find one of them already jumping across the counter tops!  Yikes!).

Wishing you all a monkey free day!

what a superb day you had. Your sister and friends did an awesome job with their cards. And your little one is too sweet. I'm so pleased we don't have thieving monkeys ~ although I caught the cat on the bench the other day heading to some meat I had there. Turned my back for a second and there he was!

Yikes is right! It must be maddening to have to deal with those monkeys daily!

Love all the cards you shared! I'm sure they all had a blast using your supplies. The card you made is so cute. Tilting her head was a great idea!

OH Brenda, your crafty day with your sister and friends sure was a productive one. How FUN, that you presented them with sketches and a theme. (When will you be starting your own Design Team!!??) I love seeing ALL the beauties that were created. AND...your card is just SO adorably sweet! Yes, I also enjoy using dies to make "shaped" cards. I think it makes the card/creations REALLY stand out from a regular card!

Brenda, you are one terrific story-teller. You always have me on the edge of my seat. I can't believe you had ANOTHER monkey in your kitchen. Good for Natasha, for alerting you, & helping you with the windows. She's one fearless helper! Way to save the yummy tart!

Sending you HUGS!

I just can't imagine the wildlife, Brenda! What a crazy life you live, sweet gal. And what a fun card party you hosted - looks like everyone had a smashing time and was so creative. Wish I loved closer (but without monkeys!).
