Ok, I think I only have two more Moxie Fab trend challenges to go! Yesterday I quickly made this card for the Gingham Challenge that Cath has arranged over at Moxie Fab World. When I think gingham, I think of Lin, and the same goes when I think of the colour blue, it's Lins' name that pops into my head!
Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah; HA Watercolour Paper; patterned paper (MME)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Distress markers
Stamps: Hero Arts (CL496); PTI (sentiment from Life)
Other: clear embossing powder; dimensional squares
It's not often that I use so many layers to create mats on my cards. Don't laugh, but it just seems like a waste of paper, that entire piece of cardstock stuck underneath and not being used! But, I decided to do it today and used some blue cardstock to create a thin mat. I like how it turned out.
The flower was stamped on watercolour paper and heat embossed. I then coloured it using a few different distress markers and a watercolour pen. I then popped it up with dimensional squares onto the had cut banner of gingham from MME's "Everyday Flair".
Trihn arrived last night and we had a wonderfully chatty evening. Today Martha and her hubby, and Vera, arrive! Yippee!

You made me giggle with your mention of "wasting" paper to make a mat.....you sound like you're from my generation! Love all the gingham, and the way you colored your flower - thanks for the sweet mention! Have FUN with everyone today!
Lovely card Brenda. I like the colors and the design. TFS
Such a fun blossom Brenda and your tiny bit of blue matting matches it so well! Great card ;)
Wow, Brenda I love your lovely pairing of gingham and flower! Everything works so perfectly in this card! AWESOME entry!
I love this beautiful card, Bren! That flower is awesome! I always think of Lin too, when gingham is the topic. :) Can't wait to hear all about your day with the gals! Have fun! :)
a simply sweet card, brenda!
Your card is lovely Brenda. I really love the bright colours and your gingham banner looks wonderful. Enjoy the weekend with your crafty friends.
Beautiful card, Brenda!! And thank you again for having me this past weekend. I had so much fun & I don't want you to leave!!! :(
Brenda I enjoyed hearing that you "splurged" on this card :0)with the layers. Your colors are sooo eye-catching!
WOW!!! That flower just pops like crazy! It really looks fantastic on the large gingham banner! I agree I still feel a little guilty if I have to many mats on my card just for the sliver of a border it provides! LOL!
lol yes, I know first hand how you feel about mats! Well I think it was all well worth it on this pretty card. I love that eye-catching flower and the gingham banner.
Lovely card with the large gingham on the bg. Your coloring is fantastic!
You must think I am VERY wasteful with all of the layers I use! LOVE the way the mat picks up and accentuates your blue gingham banner! FAB flower, too!
Pretty card...love the big flower.
Brenda, I loved seeing this beautiful card in person! The flower is gorgeous against the gingham. The layers really give this card the extra "WOW" factor! AND what a sweet sentiment!
BIG Hugs!
