Summer Card Camp Week 3

I am very late playing with this week's colour combo, but I have an excuse, my family only just left to go back to South Africa on Tuesday.  The only "good" thing about them leaving is that I now can get back into my own routine and craft when I want to.  Here is this week's colour combination:

How is it possible to love a colour combo so much and then not be able to think of what to do with it!  I really love these rich colours with that pop of red against all those browns, and yet it took me two and a half hours to eventually come up with a card, and unfortunately, I am not totally happy with it.

Also, I don't see the first colour as white, it very much looks cream to me.  Anyhow, I hope I achieved the colour combo as far as the browns go.  I used a mixture of Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain for the browns.

This week Jennifer showed us this finger painting technique, awesome results ....for her!!!  How can that be, it's not like it was a difficult technique, but my end result just does not look as rich.  Maybe I was too skimpy on the amount of colour I used.  Oh well, here it is:

Paper: cardstock (PTI); watercolour paper
Ink: various distress inks; versamark; versafine onyx black
Stamps: Hero Arts (Three Ferns S5154); PTI (sentiment)
Other: white embossing powder; pearls (HA)

We have been supplied with some great sketches today, so I hope I can get a chance to play later today.

Wishing you a fabulous day!

Brenda, this card is just lovely! I haven't had time to play with that fingerpainting technique yet; but yours turned out beautifully.

I like how you put the sentiment on the little tab up top and the felt border at the bottom- nice touches. You'll get the technique down soon I know! You won't let it go til you do :)
I think it's pretty just the same!

Hi Brenda! I'm so glad you had the opportunity to spend time with your family! I like the result you got from "fingerpainting"! I also like how you used the torn strip of red paper in your design!

Wow, what a great technique! I haven't seen Jennifer's but yours looks wonderful. I also love how you have the sentiment on a tab at the top. Great design, Brenda!

I think you did a great job with the technique, Brenda! You chose a great image to use for it too.

I still love it; it's gorgeous. Don't be too hard on yourself. I think we all strive for perfection but once in a while your project turned out different as planned. Or what we had in mind at the moment we started. And in the end we are not pleased by our own creation while others think it's to die for :)

Oh my is this proper english? I am not a native speaker/writer ...forgive me my mistakes :)
