I don't know where I have left my brain lately, but I was reminded recently, two years in a row actually, that I had forgotten the wedding anniversary of my in-laws! Can you beleive it, two years in a row! And I know that after the first amnesic moment I did write it in my diary! But obviously my diary system does not work!
Thank goodness I have a very understanding MIL, so I did tell her that she will be receiving a belated card. I am so lucky that she loves my cards!
My in-laws have been married for 42 years! Wow! That is just so amazing to me, I don't know anyone else who has been married that long. So I was digging around in my stamp collection and found a perfect sentiment by Helen Keller in my Unity stamps, it came in one of their KOM. Once I had that then I knew that I wanted to use the Hero Arts "Dancing with Flowers" cling stamp. But of course, I had to alter it because there was one girl too many on the original stamp!
Paper: Hero Arts Notecard; Neenah
Ink: Black Soot, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold & Vintage Photo DI; Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Hero Arts (CG266 & S5507); Unity
Other: Gems (Hero Arts)
No, I did not cut my stamp! I basically covered the girl I did not want with some pieces of post it notes and then inked and stamped, and embossed in black! After that I used the various distress inks listed above to ink up my image. The shape is just something I hand cut myself instead of having a simple rectangular stamped panel, I think it adds some interest!
I also stamped the notecard base with the Envelope Pattern stamp using the Dried Marigold distress ink.
I like that it is quite whimsical in nature, but it says so much more to me. My in-laws, well, that is what they seem like to me, enjoying life's every moment, every day! What an awesome quality!
Thank you for visiting!
