When I saw this new set at Hero Arts, and the beautiful butterfly in it, I knew that I needed to get it. It's called the "Butterflies & Print" and it has some beautiful matching patterned paper called "Out of Print" from Basic Grey. I thought I would use the butterfly and try to do something for this month's Hero Arts contest where the technique is water colouring.
I have realised that I am no good at this technique, so I did a version of it and I hope it stills applies for the contest, if not, no worries, I enjoyed making my card, and that's what counts.
Paper: Hero Arts layering paper; Basic Grey "Out of Print"
Ink: Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Antique Linen DI; Versafine Onyx black
Stamps: Buterflies and Print (Hero Arts CG328);sentiment (HA CL342)
Other: Gems (HA); Clear embossing powder; jute; tulle; dimensional squares; Pearlized mister
For the butterfly I applied the ink pads in various shades of blue directly to the stamp and sprayed it with pearlized water before stamping. It has a very soft shimmer to it, I love it! I added a small piece of ivory coloured tulle around the patterned paper piece and also a bit of jute.
That scroll is also from the set and I am in love with it! I stamped it in black and then heat embossed it. I used a sentiment from another set and slightly curved it to fit into the scroll. The scroll is adhered with some dimensional squares.
Lastly, some lovely black pearls from Hero Arts. I also softly inked the entire panel with some Antique Linen distress ink to soften and age it a bit.
I love how it turned out.
Thanks for popping over, I hope you have a wonderful day. This is my second post today, so please scroll down if you are interested in my take on Lucy's sketch! Bye for now!
