The challenge this week over at Wee Memories is to create something with paper piecing on it. It's sponsored by Tiffany Doodles who has some gorgeous digital stamps.
I don't really do a lot of paper piecing, I guess because to date I have preferred ink! But now that I am developing this love for some patterned paper, perhaps, paper piecing may become something I do more frequently. One also has to have the right stamps for this technique.
I stuck with a CAS style and kept the paper piecing to a minimum, no need to overdo it right?!
Paper: Cardstock (PTI); Patterned Paper (K & Co; Basicgrey)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; CTMH Dye ink
Stamps: PTI (Flower Garden); Hero Arts (butterfly CG130 & sentiment)
Other: Corner Chomper; Seed Beads (Michaels); Brads (unknown)
The butterfly is made up of two different patterned papers and then adhered using dimensional dots. The flowers were stamped, cut out and adhered to the notecard, one of them is given a bit more dimension using pop dots.
Have you seen the new Hero Arts contest for the month of May? Flowers, ATC's and Colouring Pencils as a technique! I love it! If you haven't participated before go and take a look, it's a great company with awesome stamps, and of course, generous prizes! I may enter this card there too.
