Hi everyone! I have been in the mood to make a more lighthearted Christmas card for Vera's Caring Hearts Card Drive (see previous post for more details) and also for the Hero Arts October challenge. So I looked through my Christmas stamps, remembered the "block technique" that Jennifer McGuire shared on Two Peas In A Bucket, and came up with this....
Paper: PTI; Neenah Solar White
Stamps: Hero Arts
Ink: Brilliance Starlight Silver; Fired Brick & Broken China Distress Ink; Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics
Other: Dimensional strips; Mixture of Perfect Pearl and water; Eyelets; Bakers Twine from Jillinean Soup; Stickles
To make the blue bakground panel I simply pounced a whole lot of Broken China distress ink directly on my acrylic block, which happened to have a nice wavy edge, and then spritzed it liberally with Pearlized water, and stamped. I then went over the stamped image with a paintbrush to even it out a bit. I stamped a few small stars using the starlite silver ink from Brilliance.
I stamped the sentiment and then the frame, both from Hero Arts. I then applied Fired Brick Distress Ink to the sentiment panel before "hanging" it up over a little silver star brad with some twine. The owl is coloured in with copics, cut out and then applied to the panel.
I hope this brightens someone's Christmas!
Thank you for looking and leave me a comment if you wish. Chat again tomorrow!
