Eventually I have found a chance to play in Virginia's monthly challenge! I have loved the last two challenges but just did not get the time. Here is the inspiration board:
The challenge asked for stitching and as I rarely use real stitching on my cards (too much trouble to drag out all the extra items, and no room to keep it on display permanently), I opted for a stamp I have and stamped some stitches on.
I love that Hydrangea stamp from Hero Arts and I paired it with a sentiment set from PTI. I used my Tim Holtz Distress Markers to ink up my stamp and then spritzed it with water to obtain a more watercolour look, all the rage right now. I also flicked on some watered down distress ink (Worn Lipstick) for that splatter effect (also very in)!
I hope it inspires you in some small way to play today!
Have a fabulous day!

Wow! Your pink, watercolor Hydrangea is so beautiful, Bren! Love how you added just a bit of the stamped stitching!
Oh Brenda, it makes me so happy that you get to play the challenge (yay!!). First of all, your stamping on the hydrangea is superb and I adore the water splashes in the background, too! I love the stamped stitches at the top corner! It's just lovely! Thanks so much for playing Virginia's View Challenge!

Beautiful stamping and splattering, Brenda! I'm with you on real stitching. I'm even lazy about faux stitching with my stamps!
