A friend came to visit me yesterday and we thrashed around some ideas for a project she wants to do this Saturday. It involves Zentangle® and Zendalas and it got me super eager to work on a Zendala myself the minute she left, and that's what I did.
Although the art of Zentangle® is traditionally black and white, from time to time it is nice to play with colour. I had the idea to add some red. I used a red Derwent Coloursoft pencil crayon to shade Braze.
I find Zentangle® to be an exercise in "letting go". Letting go of pre-conceived ideas, letting go of the need to be perfect, letting go of planning ahead in order to prevent "mistakes"....and just being in the moment. There is no need to overthink this art form, 99.99% of the time whatever you decide to put together as patterns/tangles, just seem to work out. Yes, there will always be a different way of doing it, a different way of combining tangles...which ultimately means a different outcome, but in that moment, that WAS the way.
The sooner one accepts that simple fact (and what a metaphor for day to day life right), the lighter your load will be.

I saw some Zentangle stamps the other day - wouldn't that take away the pleasure this exercise gives? Anyway, I think its very clever!

I love Tangling too! Your Zendala is wonderful. You're so neat. I'm a relative beginner and can't do it that neat at the moment. I have got into "dangling" more!
