One of our Hero Arts Flickr friends, Barb, has issued out a challenge over HERE, using only Hero Arts stamps, to create a card/project with the colour gray and one other colour only. So I pulled out some stamps and created this card:
Paper: cardstock (PTI - Stone)
Ink: Memento (Gray Flannel); Copic markers; Iced Spruce distress ink
Stamps: Hero Arts ( E2411 Blossoms III; Everyday Sayings; Old Letter Writing; Big Post Card)
Other: Washi Tape; Stickles
Why is it always easier to notice what is wrong or what does not work, instead of what is right?! One would think that after so many years on the planet one would have mastered that art....boy do I have a long way to go then.
I'll tell you what is sort of annoying me, and it's my doing, but I never tear up a card so that's why it is posted here. So, because everything on this card is gray except for the flower petals, I went for a "sympathy " theme. But then I post the card and see that at the bottom of the stamped image it says "have a great day", and I don't know why, but it seems out of place. Like I said, that's just me. Not sure what your thoughts are.
Off to do some reading now. Wishing you a fantastic day!

Brenda, you are too funny! But, I know what you mean...I always concentrate on what's wrong rather than what's right! I don't see anything wrong, only a lovely sympathy tag! Hope you enjoyed your reading!
I know what you mean about that little sentiment on the bottom - always have to figure out a way to cover it up if I use that stamp for a sympathy, thinking of you etc. type of card.
But your card is lovely - maybe some pearls colored grey would cover it up sufficiently. that would echo the dotted paper and seem like you did it on purpose.
Love the way your soft flower pops on this Brenda! Great card shape too. I didn't even notice the "have a great day" until you pointed it out! Don't you hate it when you get something complete and THEN find a problem...UGH! Still pretty non the less girl ;)
I suppose "have a great day" does not go well with a sympathy card but I will also say that it sounds exactly like something that would happen to me too, Bren! LOL! I was thinking you could maybe cover that area up with another small piece of the washi tape you used?
Besides that, I think it's a gorgeous card! I love the different stamps you used together and the peach-y flower looks so beautiful with the gray! Hope ya have a great weekend! :)
Actually if you hadn't pointed that out, I never would have noticed, Brenda! I LOVE this card and how the flower is so Pretty against the gray. It's a great sympathy card!
Brenda, you are funny! I have to admit, it would bother me, too...maybe a row of pearls could cover it and make you feel better? In any case it is a lovely card using gray, and the flower is the perfect touch of one extra color. Gorgeous!
beautifully done Brenda... and the little saying at the bottom is barely noticeable. The card is very elegant.
A little bit of weird humor here - but aren't you glad you caught it before you mailed it to someone!!

I would have never noticed the "have a great day" its so tiny! I also think a few added gems is a great idea. I love the grey design and inspires me to try this in the future. lovin your card :) !!
