All Things Grow With Love

Here is a card I made yesterday which I seriously need to get in the post today!  Mostly made from Hero Arts goodness.

Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah; patterned paper (GCD Studio: Charleston Collection)
Ink: Tea Dye, Antique Linen & Crushed Olive distress ink; Versafine Onyx Black; Copic markers
Stamps: Hero Arts (Long Branch; Tea Flower; Wise Bird); Sentiment (Jane's Doodles)
Other: Clear embossing powder

I stamped and trimmed the bird as well as the branch and then adhered them over the stamped Tea Flower.  The bird is coloured very lightly with some Copics.

I've mentioned Lori Vliegen before from Elvie's Studio.  I took an online lettering class with her and loved it plus I really love her way of Art Journaling, I find it very clean and crisp, uncluttered.  She makes these smaller journals based on Teesha Moore's original 16 page Art Journal.  Their size is really manageable, so I decided to make one myself and then got thinking about how much I love my butterfly stamps.  So, I decided I am going to make this a journal about all my butterfly stamps and add some quotes on each page so that I can practice my lettering.  I just wanted to share my first page.  I still have a long way to go, but I like it.

I used some Micron and Pitt Artist pens to do the lettering and some Inktense Pencils and a waterbrush for the colouring.  The inside inked edges are done with Pan Pastels and the black boarder is done with a Black Charcoal pencil and a blending stump.

Have a wonderful day!

I love your bird card, Brenda, such a nice mix of stamps. And I like your easy way of starting a journal - 16 pages is certainly doable, and now that you have a theme, you'r off and running! Please share more as you go! Thanks for an inspiring post!

OH, what a DARLING card, Brenda! WOW, look at all that wonderful fussy cutting! Love the layering and stamping. Simply beautiful!

What a LOVELY Art Journaling page! Great job with the lettering & coloring! You are inspiring me...and I think I like it...SO FUN! I look forward to seeing more of your art journaling. Enjoy!

Sometime ago, Lori Vliegen's lovely Pottery Barn Art Journal caught my eye & led me to the discovery of her blog. However, with all the computer problems I experienced, I had forgotten all about her blog. Thanks for the link...and the rediscovery of her blog.

Hugs!

This is a great card, Brenda.....love how realistic the bird is sitting in front of the flowers. Great combo and coloring! I am so proud of your journal exercise - I could never do it. Lettering is such fun. I used to have to practice it when I was studying architecture. Hope you'll share more.
