A Rose for Mother's Day

Like I mentioned a while back, I am "mojoless" at the moment.  And here is proof, this is the most CAS card possible:

It can't get any easier can it?  The rose is from PTI and the sentiment from Hero Arts.

I'm also taking another online class, learning how to draw owls, more in a whimsical way, with a fabulous teacher, Juliette Crane.  My plan is to incorporate them in my art journaling, but I am also learning new techniques and how to use different drawing tools I have.  This was my first painting of an owl, EVER!

So this afternoon I am swapping my daughter for an older girl!  Natasha is going to a playdate for the afternoon and that Mom's older daughter is coming over to play in my craft room!  How come am I nervous?!  This very sweet girl happened to see what I was up to with my Art Journaling and you could feel her excitement, it was really palpable, so there was nothing else I could do but extend an offer out to her to come and play!  (Internally I am really hoping that I can learn to be a child again in the short 3 hours we are going to have together).

Have a wonderful weekend and awesome Mother's Day!

It might be CAS but it's still very pretty! And who could possibly have a lack of mojo when they created a beautiful little owl like this one! Holy cow Brenda this is amazing! Then look at you offering an inventation to a budding young artisit, I know you'll have a fabulous time! Can't wait to hear how it went ;)

Your card is beautiful in its simplicity, Brenda! And, I love your hand drawn owl - looks like you are producing some great results from your classes.

I have done a lot of mixed media (still do) but haven't actually done an art journal. Seems like everyone is into them now, so maybe I will give it a go one day! Would love to see some of your journal pages!!!

OK- so this truly is THE simplest card I have ever seen you make! Still, I really like it! The black edge around the card really set it off and I need to remember about doing that myself.
Don't worry about the mojo. You are just too busy with all your other journaling classes to focus on this card stuff right now.
Have fun with your young friend :)
How could she help but be inspired by you!? XX

Oh, that sounds like such fun, Bren! Have a great time - and maybe take some photos of your work and hers too?

Love your darling owl! And I admire you for continuing to create, even though you have no mojo - I can't even do a simple CAS card when mine goes away! Hugs to you! :)

I love the simplicity of this one Brenda. Enjoy spending time with your young artist. You will have fun. I enjoyed spending time with my niece when she was around 11-12 yrs old. They just seem to soak it all up. Your owl is very sweet too.

What a BEAUTIFUL Mother's Day card, Brenda! I love the gorgeous flower stamped on the bottom left. and the outlining is the perfect finishing touch!

How wonderful & FUN that you've inspired your friend's daughter with your Art Journaling. I'll bet that was LOTS of fun to create together.

The owl is DARLING...love the eyes & the background!

I've been browsing blogs, & have been intrigued by all the art journaling I've been seeing.
Thanks for inspiring me!
