I Am HERE!

Oh gosh, I'm still not sure what is keeping me so busy and away from blogging and visiting my blog friends!  I've been trying to catch up with some of my Art Journaling course and have also been making some Mother's Day cards for my friends market day tomorrow.  So let me share one with you:

Paper: cardstock (PTI - Soft Stone); designer paper (BasicGrey - Konnichiwa ); Neenah
Ink: Versamark; Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps: Hero Arts (Everything Flowers); TCM (sentiment)
Other: flower gems (HA)

I adore this background stamp, and it's so pretty simply heat embossed in white.  A very simple and clean card.

I have consolidated my belief that I cannot mass produce cards, it  simply takes all the passion away, for me.  I'm just happy to make a card because I really want to lose myself in the process.  People ask me why I don't actively sell my cards, it's just too painful.

Unless you are an artist or papercrafter yourself, most people cannot begin to appreciate what actually went into making just ONE card.  So, they want to pay you a few cents for it and that's when I say, "you know what, why don't you just have it, no charge", it's so much easier to give away than to sell.  Having said that, I have given about a dozen cards to my friend to sell, but the good thing is that I don't have to be there to see what happens and she gets a portion of the sale, and that makes me feel good, supporting friends.

It's weekend again, hubby comes home tonight and the weather forecast looks picture perfect!  Wishing you all an awesome relaxing or fun filled weekend.

very very elegant Brenda. I did wonder what you have been up to as I hadn't seen you around blogland for a while. I do want to say a big thanks for you taking the time to visit me when you can. I know life can be busy when you have children and your hubby is often away. Enjoy spending time with him and your daughter.

Hi, Brenda! I love your pretty card; that background looks great done with the white embossing.

I totally agree with you about selling cards. I'm sure your cards will go quickly, though, because they are always wonderfully crafted.

Enjoy having your hubby home!!

Good to hear from you, Bren! LOVE that gorgeous card - I agree - so pretty embossed in white!

I have the same feelings about cardmaking - selling them would take the joy out of it. We would end up getting specific orders from people and that would make it stressful and take the fun out of it. Enjoy your weekend, my friend! Hugs! :)

Gorgeous card, Brenda! I love how the blooms look embossed tone-on-tone. I don't sell my cards because I'm too lazy to keep up with the business part of it. Plus it would become a job and then the fun would be lost.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with your hubby & sweet Natasha!

Brenda, what a LOVELY Mother's Day card! The white embossing makes it look SO elegant. Love the touch of color.

OH, can I EVER relate! I agree, only another papercrafter can appreciate the time and effort that goes into creating a card. How sweet of you to support your friend.

Enjoy your weekend with your hubby & sweet Natasha.

HUGS to you, my friend!

I really love this just left to the white embossing- it's so simple, but makes such a big impact nonetheless :)
