Graphic Valentine

I made another card for this months' Hero Arts contest, but don't freak out when you see it, and no, I have not gone crazy....but simply inquisitive!  In researching ideas for backgrounds for my Art Journal pages and looking into doodling etc...I came across the art of Zentangle! (You can get more info on this art HERE). OMG, look this up on Pinterest and you may just be hooked!  Of course it may not appeal to you at all, we all have our own taste.  It's not that I want to create a room filled with this type of art, but I think it's the total relaxation and freedom associated with it that has gripped me.

Then I got to wondering if I had a stamp that was large and open enough that I perhaps could "decorate" with tangles and I came up with this (do you recognise the stamped image?).

Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Copic Fineliner: Copic Marker - red
Stamps: Hero Arts (Stencil Flower; CL402 sentiment set)
Other: Twine (The Twinery); Pop dots; corner chomper

The stamp is the Stencil Flower by Hero Arts.  It took a while to make, I used three different patterns of tangling and drew them in, and yes, my eyes were squinting by the time I was done, but golly, I loved the process.

I like it, it's different and it really makes that flower pop.

Ok, off to make something after watching the Day 6 videos of Clean & Simple Cards 2.

Have a great day!

Your tangles look very professionally done, Brenda! I love that you used the stencil flower for this technique. Our LSS offers Zentangle classes now. Haven't decided to try it yet!

Yes! Zentangle is such fun and I find it therapeutic, too. It is much like the doodles I did in the 1960's. And you have used it with such creativity with this cool card. Love it, Brenda!
