Day 5 focused on how you can maximise your stamps and use the same stamps in more than one way. I love the concept, I use it every now and then, but for some reason I wasn't really feeling it when I went through the lesson. Whereas the previous 4 lessons I visualised exactly what I wanted to do almost immediately, this one I really had to "sit" on!
But, I did come up with something, probably not my best work, but it's ok and it also fits into this months' Hero Arts Contest which is Love & Lace,

Here is my card:
Paper: cardstock (PTI); patterned paper (my stash)
Ink: Tombow Markers; Versamark; Archival Sepia ink; Vintage Photo distress ink
Stamps: Hero Arts (Two Birds; Tree, Birds and Messages)
Other: white embossing powder
Giggly, happy Julie Ebersole shared the idea of white embossing an image and colouring it in with markers (although her example showed her colouring in just one of her flowers from a different stamp, I wanted to colour all of my flowers for this card).
I created a circle mask and then repeatedly partially stamped the roses in Versamark and applying white embossing powder before using my heat gun. Needless to say it was a bit tricky, and I probably wont do this again, but I had to give it a try. I wasn't trying to achieve the perfect circular stamping around the centre and I am quite happy with the way it came out.
We got a bonus lesson yesterday which I still need to look at. I am Soooooo.....busy lately in terms of crafty things....it's actually quite exciting. I'm doing that year long Art Journaling course I mentioned, then Tam offered us a free 4 week course called Art, Heart and Healing and I got to learn how to draw a face! I am extatic about this, this is the first ever face I have ever drawn in my ENTIRE life! I've also been looking into the art of doodling, believe you me, it is quite an art! So I played around a bit with letter formation and am thinking of taking a class and perhaps also a class in Calligraphy unless I can teach myself from a book I happen to have at home. Lots going on, but very stimulating!

Brenda your card is beautiful. And a brilliant use of heat emboosing; the roses are gorgeous and perfectly lined up around the sentiment ( oh my is that last sentence proper English? Or did I use the wrong words?)
