C & S Day 10

Oh dear, it's the last day of class (yesterday that is) and once again the girls were full of inspiration!  Again it was about using one stamp set in many different ways and these girls totally rocked it!

I wanted to make a card for every technique that was shared but had to resort to one for now, time being of the essence.  So I went with Jennifer Rzasa's interactive card.  This is one of those techniques that I also never really play with but  I just had to try this one.  Here is my card and it's going to my hubby, I hope he likes it.

Here is the card before pulling out the interactive piece:

Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah
Ink: Memento Gray Flannel; Copic markers; Ripe Persimmon distress ink
Stamps: PTI (Houndstooth); Unity (Love you to Pieces)
Other: Foam tape

And here it is when you pull the tab:

Very CAS indeed!  I love that little puzzle border stamp.

I stamped the large puzzle piece on my white cardstock and then had to fussy cut it out.  I wasn't very happy about the edges, they just looked rough so I first went around the edges with a dark grey copic marker and didn't like that either.  So then I thought I would do a bit of flicking with 3 different gray copic markers and I do like the emphasis it has placed on that puzzle piece.

A big thank you to the entire Clean & Simple Cards team, you were amazing!  I am going to take all the PDF's to be printed and bound into a book that I can refer to over and  over, it was THAT good!

So, on a personal note, I made the Half Marathon this morning.  It was supposed to be 88F and it turned out to be much cooler, BUT, we ran it in torrential rain with thunder and incredible lightning just zapping all around us.  I was carrying an extra 3kg of water in my shoes and in my clothes for sure!  The water was very often above ankle height, almost mid-calf!  Man, what an experience!  I have to say that I am a bit achy but I am exceptionally pleased with my time, of course  I can improve, but considering all the factors, it was AWESOME!

What a clever card, Brenda! You did a great job cutting out that puzzle piece. I would have butchered it. I will have to take the CAS class later when I have more time.

Such a fun idea for a card, Brenda! How you "got it together" is a great story. Love the grey treatment. Great run story, too - I could just feel that nasty weather. Glad you are safe and happy.
