Y2K Baby

My niece was born on the 1st of January 2000 and she is visiting from France next week so I wanted to make sure I had a birthday card ready for her.  I knew I wanted to use some pretty papers from Lilybee Designs' 6x6 paper pad called "Head over Heels" and that I also wanted to feature a flower, so I went with one from Hero Arts (CL374) and this is what I came up with:

I paper pieced the flower and then overlaid it with an acetate version and added  a sprinkling of gems to the centre.  The frame around the patterned paper is from one of those stamps you find in a set and then never use, this one is from a PTI set called "Little Bitty Bird".

It's my parents in-laws last day here, they leave tomorrow which is quite sad in a way, especially since they are so far away and one never knows when you are going to see each other again.  But I did manage to take them to a few magical places and one of those places was Giant's Castle, part of the Drakensberg Mountain range.  So I will leave you with a photo showing the beauty of the place:

Have a wonderful day!

Brenda, what a perfectly feminine card for your niece. She will love it! Love the sweet flower, the dots, and the fun border stamping. Great creativity!

Good-byes are always sad, but I'm so glad your in-laws were able to visit you for a while. Sounds like you were able to show them many beautiful places. Love the photo of the mountain range.

Take care!
