Birds and Bubblegum

I know, weird title!  But here is my card and then I'll explain!

Paper: cardstock (PTI & Neenah); patterned paper (MME?)
Ink: Memento (Gray Flannel); Hero Arts ( Bubblegum mid-tone shadow ink ); Tea Dye distress ink
Stamps: Hero Arts (Classic Tea Flower); PTI (Tiny Tags II); Artistic Outpost (Birds of a Feather)
Other: Twine (The Twinery); Hug-Snug Seam Binding; Pin (unknown); Spellbinders die

The bird is from Artistic Outpost and I love how beautifully it stamped using that Gray Flannel ink from Memento.  Using the bird is totally inspired by Jacqueline's work, she has a knack of using birds and butterflies that make everything she creates, so, dreamy!

Bubblegum!  Well, let's say it's my new love!  No, not the chewing kind, but the Hero Arts Mid-tone kind!  My oh my!  I COULD eat that ink it is so pretty and it applies so beautifully!  Try it if you can.  I used it to repeatedly stamp the Classic Tea Flower (omitting the stalk) onto the patterned paper.  I then used some Tea Dye distress ink to soften the edges of my main and sentiment panel.

I am going to enter this into the current Simon Says Stamp challenge which is "Anything Goes".

My Mom's birthday is in November and I decided to get a very early start!

Our Saturday is deep into the afternoon already, whilst many of my USA friends have only just begun theirs.    I always thought I was adventurous but after enduring an 80 mile drive this morning at 8am in an open Jeep (no roof) with the cold wind blowing I kind of lost my sense of humour!  I hope you have a great and calm day.

I've always thought of you as adventurous - maybe it was just a bit too early in the morning! :)

WOW WEE... that Bubblegum ink certainly makes a stunning background with the stamp. And your robin looks like a vintage book plate. It is a perfect foil for the pink background. Sounds like your early morning trip was quite the adventure
