You're a Great Friend

This month's Hero Arts contest comes to a close tomorrow and I managed to make a second card for it. You can find all the contest details HERE.

Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah solar white
Ink: HA Poppy chalk ink; Distress inks; Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps: Hero Arts (Dot Flower Pattern; Sweet Wonderful You)
Other: Gems; dimensional tape; corner chomper

Quite self explanatory, but make sure you can see clearly when you decide to cut those two flowers out of the background because it can be quite confusing on the eyes!

I had a few questions about how I managed to get such a crisp embossing line on my previous card posted HERE.  Firstly I have to tell you that my friend Martha shared this secret with me when she came to visit in Houston so I cannot take any credit.  This is the tool I used:

I think it's just a dry embossing tool, both tips have a rounded edge, one thicker than the other.  Basically you use one of the ends on the back side of the die cut paper while it is still in the die and you carefully go around the inside edge.  It really does give a very crisp line, better than what I ever got using those mats.  Hopefully it answers your questions.

Wishing you all a really wonderful day!

Such a neat idea to cut out the flowers like that, Brenda! Love the colors you used too! Great tip from Martha - I've never done that before either - thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks for the tip on the embossing Brenda ;) I actually have one of these so I am going to give it a try!

Love your card and I can see where it would be difficult to cut out the flower - wow - great job!

Brenda this design-on-design card is fabulous. Love how the flowers are separate and unique, but perfectly match the background!
