Simon Says Stamp Card Drive

I always feel better when I am crafting for a reason, a reason more important than me.  And lo and behold, SSS are asking for card makers to participate in a card drive for a lovely 13 year old, Maddy, and her sister Melanie who is 15.  You can find all the details HERE.

So I made them each a card today (I'll post the second one later), hopefully it goes to lift their spirits up just that little bit more.  (I just hope my cards make it before the deadline of 3rd August!).  This card is for Maddy who is suffering with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

I used some pretty MME designer paper as well as a piece of Lawn's Fawn's "Bright Side" (the flag).  The cloud is made using some Washi Tape from Freckled Fawn which I adhered on some white cardstock and then die cut using a PTI cloud die. The sentiment is also from a PTI set.  The little bee and sun are from a sweet Hero Arts set. The pink cardstock I used for the notecard is from Penny Black (still from some of the sheets that my friend Lisa gave me).

If you can, try to make time to create a little card or two for these lovely girls and/or their parents, for not other reason than the fact that this is what we do, right, because we care.

Well, the weekend is coming to an end.  I am counting the days until I see Michael again, this Friday!  In the meantime, life continues.  Sending you all lots of hugs!

I agree, Brenda, it is always good to make cards for a specific reason. And what a great reason this is! Maddy is going to love this card, for sure! I have a few to send in already...thanks for spreading the word!

Hang in there, girlfriend....you sound a bit deflated. Making this sweet card for this wonderful cause must have been a spirit-lifter. I need to get mine in the mail. Love this busy bee!
