Remembering Your Kindness

You know, when I read all your loving comments I am filled with happiness.  Everyone is so kind, caring, thoughtful, genuine....thank you...and most of you have never even "met" me in person!  Isn't that incredible, if you just stop and think about these "friendships" we have all developed over a common interest and passion, how easy it was to do....it makes me happy!

If only friendships were that easy to forge in real life, and as one gets older it gets more challenging.  We are set in our ways, we have our routines or ways of doing things, I think we kind of know what we want in life (sort of for most part anyway), so making new friends is not that easy.  It's a lot of work actually, having to re-tell your life stories to people that are still "strangers" really, and wondering if your gut feel about them is correct.  It's not going to be easy, I need my Lisa and my Mom In Law and my cyber friends, I don't need a whole entourage of new ones, I love the ones I have!  A bit melancholy today, missing everyone that is dear to me.

But here is a card before you all decide to leave!  And I'll add it to the current Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is "Anything Goes".

Paper: kraft cardstock (PTI); designer paper (BasicGrey - Kissing Booth)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Latte Chalk Ink - HA
Stamps: Hero Arts (CL286; CL374; CL311)
Other: Scalloped Edge Punch (Stampin' Up); Gems

Michael went back to Angola today, I'll miss him as I always do.  Natasha is thrilled to go to school, so happy to see her friends after the weekend.  The renovations are coming along nicely.  This week the gas people come to put in the lines for our gas cooker and also we decided to convert our fireplace to a gas one.  All the rubble has been removed from inside the house and the tiling has begun, and new ceilings are being put up.  We signed off on our new kitchen design so that's now in production.  So actually, we simply kept the shell of the house and completely changed the inside!

We went for a drive yesterday just to get out and I took this picture which shows a bit of the start of the Drakensberg mountain range in the distance.

Have a wonderful day!

It really is amazing how close we all feel to each other because of this wonderful hobby. I'm so glad it helps you feel better to have all of us "cyber friends!" Having the renovations to work on is a good thing for you right now - helps you stay busy. Hang in there, sweet girl - I know with time, your new life is going to feel more normal - thinking of you lots!

Love your gorgeous card, by the way - so pretty with that lovely patterned paper! Sending tons of hugs to you!

Brenda, I so agree with your thoughts. Sometimes I have to pinch myself, thinking about how this "hobby" of ours has enriched my life. I ADORE your card today, and as always, enjoy the pictures of your country you share with us! I'm sure you will find some kindred spirits there, too, just be patient :))

You started all over half way acroos the world. It must be tough to leave your beloved ones behnd and get on with your life in another part of the world. I admire the fact that you are doing this. Big decision and big step... I never moved to another city and i am still living in the city where I was born and raised.

I hope you will feel a bit less melancholy soon. Take care.

Oops almost forgotten; love your card!

Sending a hug...

Hello Brenda and hugs!! How exciting to be starting the adventure of seeing your new home change right before your eyes. As for friends, we are never far and with your magnetic personality you will soon have stories to share about the new friendships that appear in your lovely new neighborhood.

Aw, what a sweet post, Brenda! I totally know what you mean about old friends and making new ones. We are close in age, I think! :) Good to know everything is going well, especially that the renos have started and Natasha is enjoying school! Your card is lovely and perfect for how you're feeling at the moment.

I completely agree with your thoughts Brenda-it seems when one is younger making new friends is so much easier. Not sure if it's because there's more opportunities to meet new people or if it's because we're more open when we're younger. This hobby of ours is such a blessing! You are such an interesting person and I'm sure you will meet others who share the same passions in life-just hang in there:). Your card is so pretty-love the colors you chose and the placement of the flowers!!
