Flutter By

Here is a card I made a weekend or two ago using a cute Lawn Fawn set called Flutter By.

I cut out a notecard with one of my Spellbinders Nestabilities, I love this shape.  I also created the mat with a smaller nestie and dry embossed it around the edge the way Martha taught me (what an awesome revelation that was!).  The patterned paper is also from Lawn Fawn, their "Bright Side" 6 X 6 paper pad.

On a personal note, my little princess is not feeling well.  She has had a sore throat and horrible fever for 3 days, I eventually had to find a doctor and get her checked out, and of course, another bout of Strep Throat.  So she started antibiotics on Friday.  Yesterday she seemed a little perkier, the fever seemed to be under control, so we took a one hour drive to the Natal North Coast to visit some special friends.

We walked on the beach and had lunch there too.

I love lighthouses!   And I just adore those red umbrellas!

Here we are, being silly.

And here we are today, it's Sunday, Natasha woke up with no fever but still pale, but she seemed ok, until about 3 hours later when the vomiting began!  And now, now I worry, I worry how do I get that antibiotic to stay in so that she CAN get better, how do I get her to eat to keep her strength up and so that she can TAKE the antibiotic...and all this time I am reminded about this almost exact same episode about 3 years earlier, on her birthday, when she had to be admitted to hospital with toxic tonsillitis and vomiting and just looking and feeling plain awful!

So please, just think of Natasha today and send some silent prayers that she gets better soon!  Hugs to all!

Brenda, What a beautiful card! Love that butterfly :) You will have to share your tip from Martha on the dry embossing.

Praying for Natasha - always hated when my children were sick - had always rather it be me than them.

Oh, Bren - I'm sorry Natasha is so sick! I know how it feels when your child isn't feeling well, and the worry that goes along with it. Trust your instincts and take her back to the doc if you think you should. I'll say a prayer for her.

I love your pretty card - that really is a neat shape! Sending lots of hugs!

I hope it's nothing serious. Sounds like you're keeping an eye on her and doing the best you can.

I do want to comment on your card. I love how you used the Nestabilities and that nice sharp edge on the white panel. I'm sure you shared how to get that edge, but wondered if you might share again in a post. :)))
