Sorry - Word Shadow

I am typing this from our hotel room in Dubai where we are currently in transit on our return back home to South Africa.  After two years in the USA we made the decision to return.  Many reasons made up this decision and although we gain on some levels by going back (closer to my Mom and sister, close to where Michael actually lives), we lose on other levels, my best friend Lisa is now oceans away as are Michael's parents,  Natasha's Grandma and the only Grandpa she has!

It was with a heavy, heavy heart that I left Houston yesterday.  Lisa was so kind to have us stay with  her since Monday whilst our house was being packed up and cleaned.  I will always be thankful.

We both did a great job keeping our emotions in check, but by Thursday I could definitely see that it was taking it's toll.  Maybe, in months to come, Lisa and I will be able to laugh and share with you how these emotions showed their head on Thursday in particular!

So for now, so that I don't start crying again, here  is a card share of one of those cards I made at 3h30 am  a few weeks back when I could not sleep.

The stamp is Untitled Word Shadow from Hero Arts, the papers are all scraps.

The beautiful ribbon is from Vera (thank you Vera), it is so silky and soft.  The ink is Terracota dye ink from CTMH.

I'm off to see if I can sleep a little, although I doubt it.  Then in the morning we take our final flight from Dubai to Durban and restart our lives, once again.

I'll do my best to be back here soon!  Hugs to all the cyber friends I feel I have "left behind", (so weird), and a very special hug to Lisa and my Mom in Law whom I know reads my blog!  I love you both so much!

Awww, Brenda, I've already told Lisa how bad I feel for the two of you. But you haven't lost anyone! I know it's not the same, but thank goodness for the internet! And the rest of us are still right here too! I hope you were able to at least enjoy a bit of beautiful Dubai. Safe travels the rest of the way, my friend!

Love your gorgeous card! Hang in there and give yourself some time - before ya know it, life will seem normal again. Sending you tons of hugs!

HI Brenda thinking of you while you make your big move! I know it's not easy but when you made the decision you were making what's best for your family. Having hubby being closer to home and a shorter flight will be better. :> I am so sorry though that you couldn't take Lisa with you! But I think you two will keep up your friendship and who knows where life will take both of you! :> This is a beautiful card and one that fits your situation too. Sending you hugs!

As I told Lisa earlier today...though you are miles apart the ties that bind you are short. You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers Brenda as you start another chapter in your life. Best wishes and take care my friend!

Well Brenda.... the day has come and gone.... I wish you well, heading home ~ at least in these technological times, you can skype and blog and email and still keep in touch. And friendships like yours and Lisa's will go on forever, regardless of the distance! Take care and be safe.

I have been thinking a lot about you. I absolutely LOVE this beautiful card you've created in the wee hours of the night, or shall I say morning. Every detail is simply perfect! The "Vera" ribbon works beautifully with the colors. I LOVE it!

Hi Brenda, I hope you are settling into your new home. I'm so sad for you & Lisa; I know it's hard to make true friends as we get older. Hang in there! Your card is so pretty with the script on the PP behind the shadow stamp.
