Playing Favorites with A Blog Named Hero

I hope that you have all heard about the new kid on the "blog" (although the owners/founders, Mary Dawn and Linda are not new),it's called A Blog Named Hero, and it's dedicated to those who love all things Hero Arts!

They are holding their first challenge which ends on the 10th of April, so not much time left to play!  And guess what, you have to use your favorite Hero Arts product!  Phew, easy one!  I LOVE my Antique Engravings clear set!  Here is my card which I will also add to this months' Hero Arts contest as it uses one of their sketches.

And here is my card using one of the wonderful butterflies in the Antique Engravings clear set.

Paper: notecard (Hero Arts); strip of cardstock (PTI); designer paper (MME); SSS Watercolour paper
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; HA Poppy Chalk Ink; Copics; Broken China & Peeled Paint distress stains
Stamps: Hero Arts (K5376 (Hydrangea); CL383 (Antique Engravings); CL342 (sentiment set))
Other: Circle Punch (EK Success); Scalloped Punch (Stampin' Up); Washi Tape (Freckled Fawn); Corner Chomper; Perfect Pearls mist

I first stamped the Hydrangea stamp several times with the Poppy Chalk ink to create a soft background.  I then laid down my strips of washi tape from Freckled Fawn, cardstock and designer paper.  I created the circle by covering it with distress stains, letting it dry and then spraying it with Perfect Pearls mist for a nice shine and popped it up with dimensional foam onto the card. I stamped, coloured and trimmed my butterfly, adding a little bit of glossy accents on the yellow spots.

I love CAS sketches like these, they really help me a lot when trying to put a card together!

I hope you enjoy my card today, and thank you for the visit! Hopefully you had time to contribute to this first challenge!
