Pot A Flower

I had been eyeing out the lovely whimsical, and large, flower stamps over at Purple Onion Designs and received the ones I had ordered yesterday (thanks Michelle for the super quick mailing and the little added gifts!).  So today I made a card using the Pot-a-Flower stamp.

I hope you are not bored with the colours I chose, same as yesterday!  Firstly, I really love them but more importantly I have challenged myself to try and use up any scraps of paper I cut into instead of simply adding them to my already large pile of scrap pieces!  And then when I am left with very tiny bits, (that for some unhealthy reason I am unable to throw in the bin), I get out a punch and punch out something, mostly butterflies!

I purposely did not add a sentiment although I was considering a small "Hi".  This is unusual for me, but I'll add something on the inside when I decide what I am going to do with it.

I basically paper pieced the flower and the pot.  I used the MFT Double Scalloped die-namics die to create those pretty edges.  And, I used some punched out butterflies (Martha Stewart punch) and a little pearl here and there.  The notecard is Hero Arts.  The pot and yellow flower centre are popped up for dimension.

I will add that I did allow myself to try out the March Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month.  I wanted to see the benefits.  When I got it  I realised that I actually already have all those designer papers, but, the kit won't go to waste.  The positives is that for people who struggle to co-ordinate items this is  an awesome solution.  You also get a page of sketches that you can use as a starting point.

I'm going to add this card to the current challenge over at Simon Says Stamp to use three different papers.

It cooled down drastically overnight and the wind has been roaring at 30mph!  So it's another different and beautiful day!

It's a beautiful color scheme and I especially like the double scallops on either side of the image. It's super sweet with all that paper piecing too! :)
