My friend Lisa and I are taking part on the Clean & Simple Card Making Online Class, me more for the fact that I need a kick start after a two week break, plus I really admire the instructors/designers.
So today was the first class and it came together with sketches, so I chose one of them and made my CAS card.
Paper: cardstock (PTI); designer paper (Cosmo Cricket)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Versamark
Stamps: The Craft's Meow
Other: clear embossing powder; dimensional foam adhesive; jute(Michaels)
I followed the sketch to the T. The sentiment is stamped in black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The patterned paper panel was created by first adhering the paper to a piece of kraft cardstock and then mounted with dimensional foam (it just makes it sturdier).
The star was stamped with Versamark and clear embossed.
So, as you can see, there is not much to it but I like the outcome. I love CAS designs, right up my alley!
It's been an interesting day here in Katy, Texas! We were under a tornado warning and were hit by some severe weather including hail which created sheets of ice floating down some neighborhoods! My poor friend Lisa was forced to pull over at one point and try to sit out the storm, pretty scary, I could hear it in her voice when she called me. Lucky for me I was indoors at my Pilates class.
But all is quiet here in our neighborhood now. It's still raining, but it's mild.

Brenda - I love the paper and the contrast of the red with the star!
Such a weird weather year in more places than one. Tornadoes in January . . .with ice?! So glad you (and Lisa) are all right. Here in Minnesota today, we have not a speck of snow on the ground, and the temp is close to 50 degrees! This is normally our coldest time of the year - CRAZY!
I do love your card, Bren - such wonderful colors together! Glad to hear you're enjoying the class! :)
Way to start out the class, B! Fabby little card :) I'm off to sit down and try to conjure one of my own with a cup of chai :)This should be interesting, since I think we both know CAS isn't really me.....
cute card! scary weather conditions...glad to know everyone is alright!
GREAT CAS card Brenda, "star quality" for sure!! Glad you & Lisa are ok. I can't believe all of this crazy weather. It's been in the 40s & 50s here in Ohio;definately not our usual Jan. weather!

CAS at its best; the embossed star almost pops off the card:). Hope all is still ok with you and no tornado...
