A Small Boo!

Today I wanted to play with a Penny Black stamp that I won from the very talented and extremely kind Elizabeth Allan! The wooden stamp is called "The Horror Team" and it actually has three little Halloween characters on it which you can work with individually if you want.  So that's what I did, I used just two of the little guys and made a little card....

Paper: notecard (The Paper Studio); purple cardstock (unknown); Neenah Solar White
Ink: Versamark; Copic markers; Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Penny Black (The Horror Team; Circular Design); Lawn Fawn (Heebie Jeebies - sentiment
Other: Hemp; Glossy Accents; Black embossing powder; Black enamel accent; dimensional tape

I wish I could take better photos, I really need to take a photography course!

I stamped the purple cardstock with the Circular Design and embossed it with black embossing powder (love the stark black against the purple).  And then, a lot of fussy cutting!  The hats, the pumpkin, the balloon and one hand on each critter is popped up with dimensional tape.  In retrospect, I should maybe not have pieced the hats, but once it was done there was no turning back.

I hand made the sentiment tab using a corner chomper.

They are just the cutest little guys!  I think this one is going in a box for my daughter.

I have started a little box where every now and then, whilst I am in my craft room and perhaps just sitting and thinking about the ones I love, I just make a little card for my daughter with the bits and pieces lying around on my table and I just write her a note about whatever is on my mind.  It's for her, later, when life is different, when she has all grown up or when I am no longer around, just little love notes, so she knows that even when she was not here, or when she was asleep, I was thinking of her.

Do any of you do something similar perhaps?

Sending you all lots of love and wishing you a wonderful day!  And hugs to my new followers, you make me happy.

(I'll enter this into this week's Wee Memories challenge, "Free For All").

I have a similar diary for my two boys that they can read (hopefully many, many years from now) when I'm not around anymore. I love the idea of cards though, Bren. What a special gift for her!

Love this darling card! Adorable images, and that background is perfect for Halloween - love the little boo too! :)

This is so fun & cute, Brenda! All the fussy-cutting paid off; wonderful details. And I love your idea of making little cards for your daughter. I used to keep a journal for mine but that fell to the way side at some point.

And congrats on your feature at Inspired By! I can't wait to see all your fabulous cards this week!

Super cute Brenda! And I love what you do for your daughter! Great idea. I have a journal that I try to write in but honestly... I stink at it. I just wrote in it last night for the first time in months! I have missed so many stories and things I wanted to remember forever! It makes me sad yet... I am not getting any better at keeping up with it!

Fun card and love the black stamping on the purple. Very striking!

Not too sure if I should be proud or not that I do not miss someone so much now! If you asked me many years ago, yes, I had to cry because of homesick!!

Brenda this is adorable! Love the circular design backgound as it lends movement to your perfectly colored critters.

Wonderful idea of saving notes for your daughter. I hide little notes for my husband to come across unexpectedly.
