Tuesday Trigger: Garden Glory

This is the trigger for this week over at Moxie Fab World!  I was instantly attracted to the colours, especially that blue!  Then I saw the flower on the pillow and knew I needed to incorporate a flower in my design.  Next came the decision about the background and that chair kept speaking to me.

So here it is, my humble interpretation.

Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah
Ink: Memento; Copics; Peeled Paint DI
Stamps: Hero Arts (CL480); PTI (Year of Flowers: Marigold)
Other: dimensional squares; Corner Chomper

What do you think?  Is it weird to have that sentiment when the chair is not the focal point? I felt that all the empty chairs in the background created a sense of longing.  I have been doing a lot of sitting and thinking about my hubby lately, thank goodness he will be home again in one week!

That centre panel is popped up with some dimensional squares.  I love that flower, such a great image to colour!
Also just thinking about all the people affected by these wildfires here in Texas.  The one area is Austin, near to where my Mom in Law lives, but thankfully she is only affected by the smoke in the air.  And the other areas are just west of Houston and we are getting a fair amount of smoke in the air here where we live.  The schools have made playtime indoors due to the poor quality of the air.  My running club even cancelled the group run last night because there was too much smoke around.  But those poor families, losing everything they own, I cannot begin to imagine it!  I did not sleep last night, I was lying in bed and making mental lists of what would I need to pack and take out of the house if fires were to come this way!  All I could think about was my daughter.

Hoping you all have a great day where you are.

Brenda, your card is so pretty! What a great interpretation of the Moxie Fab trigger...so clever!

I hope you and your family stay safe with the fires. This has been a crazy summer, hasn't it? We had an earthquake and a hurricane in one week, and it has been raing almost every day so there are mud slides and floods all over our area. I do hope things ease up for all of us. Stay safe.

This card is so fun! Love the way you thought this through and used the chairs for the background! Your flower is beautiful!

I've been watching the total devastation of the wildfires there in Texas and it is so sad! I'm glad to know that you and your family are safe, Brenda. Hugs to you. . .

I'd say this card is "scrumptious"!! The sentiment works so beautifully with the background and the flower really enhances the composition! Well done, Brenda! That is so sad about the wildfires in TX :(

Brenda the first thing I thought before I even read your post was how neat it was that you repeatedly stamped the chair for your background paper! Love it. It really sets off the big blue flower and sentiment. Sorry to hear about the fires in Texas. Happy to hear you are safe.

Hi Brenda, your card is awesome--great take on the inspirational photo. Awesome design. I hope that those fires stop soon. I think that I would probably panic if a fire was to strike my home. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Take care and God bless. Hugs

This is gorgeous! I love the green and blue together and your coloring is fabulous.

I saw that you are from Texas on your bio. I was wondering what part. I use to live in Grand Prarie and absolutely loved it, although really hot. Hope you are no where near the fires taking place down there.

Take care,

Brandi
