Nice and Neutral

I love the rusticness of this inspiration photo and the sense of romance created by the banner!  So Cath over at Moxie Fab wants us to go neutral this week, and I did, BUT, I added a touch of turquoise because I see either a dusty blue (or now maybe grey - oops, too late) in the background.  However, it's all about our own interpretation and I went with my flow today!

Paper: cardstock (PTI rustic cream)
Ink: Brushed Corduroy & Antique Linen DI; Memento; CTMH - Juniper Dye ink
Stamps: WPlus9 (Defining Words); Hero Arts (S5208 Designer Woodgrain)
Other: 2" Scalloped Circle punch (EK Success); Flower embellishment (Tiffany)

The flower is made by punching out 5 scalloped circles, one for the base and the other four to create the petals.  I first scrunched up the four petal layers and then inked them up with Antique Linen and applied some Juniper ink lightly to the edges.  That little moulded flower in the centre was given to me some time ago by Tiffany (thank you), and I was so thrilled to be able to use it as I am really bad with embellishments!

I was obviously inspired by the wooden headboard (my woodgrain background is actually scored horizontally at 1" intervals, but just difficult to see in the photo).

And I love the ruffles on the one pillow and decided to combine that with that gorgeous flower in the photo!  There is no getting away from LOVE, I am not French for nothing, I am a hopeless romantic so I had to incorporate that word and what better way than to use this awesome sentiment definition from WPlus9.  And the sentiment strip is shaped as inspired by the little flags in the picture! The entire woodgrain panel is adhered to the notecard with dimensional squares, I am liking that look!

Et voila! I like this simple style!  Go and play along with this challenge, you can only have fun!
