I am back & Getting Texty

Lawn Fawn is getting texty in their 18th challenge which you can find here at their Lawnscaping Challenge blog.

It is entirely possible that as I am ageing, (gracefully of course), I am becoming sillier!  Because that is how I felt when I finished my card, don't get me wrong, I like it, but maybe the design is silly.  Oh well, you can be the judge of that!

Paper: cardstock (PTI); yellow cardstock & green plaid paper (unknown); patterned paper (MME)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Cottage Ivy; Brilliance - Sunflower Yellow; Copic marker
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Fly Free; Blissful Botanicals; Hello Friend)
Other: EK Success circle punch

I used the "our friendship is forever" sentiment from the Hello Friend set and clinged it in a skew position on my stamping block before stamping repeatedly to create some "grass".  I then stamped and paper pieced the flower.

I cut a circle from yellow cardstock and adhered it in the corner to create a sun, trimming off the excess, and then decided to create some rays using the smaller "smile" sentiment from the Fly Free set.

It's a mini card, it only measures 3.5 X 4.25", I just find that they are easier to create when you are dealing with smaller stamps.

I think I will write a seperate post about our trip to New York, which was absolutely wonderful!  That city is ALIVE!  I am glad to be back, I missed my daughter so very much, and my own BED!

Ok, perhaps I will be back later, trying to figure out a card for the current sketch challenge over at Lily Pad!  Thanks for stopping by!

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Welcome home, Brenda! I think your card is cute, not silly. I love the way you used the sentiment for a hill to rest your sweet flower on!

Hi Brenda, your card is adorable. I love all of the fun elements that you added to it. Very creative work. Glad that you had a fun time in NYC. Did you go to the Empire State Building? You are absolutely correct about NY being Alive. Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Take care. Hugs to you.

I think this is way too sweet! I need to think about how I can use sentiments in a more creative way like this, instead of just simply stamping it as a 'sentiment'. Great inspiration!
