In today's Summer Camp blog post Jennifer shared the technique for getting a letterpress look using embossing folders. She also shared using an acetate panel in the middle of a card, but as I am not a great fan of acetate, I decided to try the letterpress technique with this week's colour combo and forego the acetate idea.
Paper: Hero Arts Notecard; Neenah; scrap of green cardstock
Ink: Copic Markers; CTMH (Juniper dye ink); HA Pool Shadow ink; Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Unity (Rain & Flowers); Hero Arts (Magical Background CG211); MFT (Typewriter Alphabet)
Other: Glossy Accents; Cuttlebug embossing floder
Nothing too spectacular. I inked up the debossed side of the embossing folder wih Pool shadow ink in order to make that "letterpress" strip. I coloured in the flower from the Unity set using Copics and added a bit of glossy accent here and there for texture and shine.
The sentiment was created using a Typewriter Alphabet stamp set, I then cut each word out and used my copic marker to go around the edges before adhering it to the card.
I am not really sure how I feel about this card, maybe it will grow on me. I think I need to go and make something totally different, something not for Summer Card Camp. Don't get me wrong, I am thoroughly enjoying it, learning so many new things, but I need to do something unrestricted, with no rules or maybe try out a challenge on one of the fabulous blogs out there.
As you can tell from the sentiment I am very much thinking about my husband, 3 more sleeps!

I really love that flower and how you colored it in! I also love how you did the sentiment - I never think to do that!! I miss not being able to make a Summer Camp card this week - I really like these colors.
I love how the letterpress technique turned out, Brenda! I'm hoping to get a card done with this week's colors - they are so pretty.
wow, Brenda, I love your letterpress panel! It looks so great on this sweet and summery card.
Your panel turned out beautiful Brenda. Also like the way you did the sentiment. Not long now...
CUTE card with so many FAB details! LOVE the letterpress and LOVE how you cut out the words and colored around them! Gives them a POP against that background!
Pretty! Has a lovely effect to it!
This is a cute card, Brenda! Love the letterpress technique. I haven't been able to keep up with the classes, but am storing all the techniques and tips and sketches in order to play with them in the future.
Glad to hear your hubby will be home so soon now. Enjoy!!!
So lovely, Brenda, you are on roll, aren't you???
Funny you say that about acetate... even I seem to become absolutely uncreative when I try and make a card with acetate. Lol!

I really like how your letterpress panel turned out Brenda! I'll have to give this technique a try! I haven't been doing summer card camp but I know what you mean about creating with guidelines/restrictions - sometimes that just makes me less creative. Glad to hear it won't be long before your dh returns :)
wow! really love the embossed background and the letterpress look. beautiful card, Brenda! love it!
You have a fab selecion of colors here- I adore how you colored the flower and just all of the different designs going on with the embossing and magical bg. I never think to seperate words of a sentiment- I like that!
I know what you mean but I think your card turned out fabulous. This color combo is gorgeous; It has something soft but also bright. I think you did a great job.
And ýes; it's great to create something without restrictions or rules :)
Thanks for your lovely email; I appreciate it so much!
Hugs!
