Fun In The Sun

I decided to make a fun card for the current Hero Arts contest which ends on the 28th of this month.

Paper: Hero Arts notecard; PTI cardstock; Neenah
Ink: Vintage Photo DI; Copic Markers; Soft Pool shadow ink (HA); Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Hero Arts (CL381; CL438; S5435)
Other: Glossy Accents; Dimensional Squares; Twine (The Twinery & My Minds Eye)

I created the sand with kraft cardstock.  The shape is hand cut and the second layer is popped up with dimensionals.  I also inked the edges with some Vintage Photo distress ink for depth.

The clouds are from an un-named stamp I have that is ancient, I stamped over it with the HA Graph Background stamp and popped just the one up with dimensionals.

I coloured the images in with Copic markers.

I cut out the flip-flops from the tag in the "Let's Chill" set, not sure why I never saw them there before!  I also added some glossy accents to the straps and flower.

Then I decided to make a little beach towel using various strips of twine glued onto a rectangular piece of cardstock.  And that was my card, done!

But the more I looked at it the more I really wanted to see a person on the beach and I have no stamps that has a little person on it.  So, I decided to simply use the head of one of the smaller girls in a HA clear set.  She is simply playing in the sand and having fun, behind a sand dune, that's why you don't see her body (which isn't there)!

Thanks for indulging me!  I have already had a great start to my day, I met my running partner at 5am and we ran 5 and a half miles!  Ooh, that feels so good!  Then I came home and showered and realised that I am ageing!  I dried myself off and was about to step out of the shower when I began wondering why I was hearing tiny bubble like popping sounds in my ears and around my head!  Well, the shampoo was still in my hair!  A good laugh first thing in the morning is also good for the soul!  Have an awesome day!

Glad that you started your day in such a fun way. Even I feel great when I go swimming the first thing in the morning.

Brenda, I'm just getting up and I'm so impressed that you've already run 5+ miles! In TX, no less, in July! I'm one of those people who will use any excuse not to exercise (too hot, too cold, etc). Is Katy near Austin?
Your card is adorable! Love how it all came together!

Brenda you are my inspiration. To run like you are doing is one of my dreams. Just love that you are so into running and keeping healthy. Now for that cute card, it is amazing. The imagination and creativity behind it inspires me to get off my duff and try out for this contest too. I kind of get tired of trying, but than again it is never a waste of time to sit and create. Thanks for sharing this sweetie. Hugs.
