So I had a few minutes this afternoon to play with a colour combination from Summer Card Camp (while the rest of the family was napping!). On Friday Jennifer and Kristina offered up a number of colour combos and I went with the second combination as I desperately wanted to colour a rose in yellow.
Paper: PTI cardstock; Patterned paper and yellow cardstock (DCWV); Neenah
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Copic Markers; Antique Linen Distress Ink
Stamps: PTI (Year of Flowers Collection)
Other: Classic Oval Large Nestabilities (Spellbinders); EK Succes scalloped edge punch; Pearls (HA)
I really enjoyed this fresh colour combination. And I thouroughly loved colouring that rose. I was worried that these smaller images in the collection would be tough to colour but I was pleasantly surprised.
As you can see I did not do much to the card, I wanted the rose and the blue patterned paper to stand out. I toyed a bit with yellow ribbon versus a scalloped edge, paper won in the end! I would have liked to add some stickles here and there on the rose but seeing as this card will most likely go into my OWH pile I had to forego the urge!
I hope you are all having a really pleasant Saturday afternoon. I am waiting for the heat to go down a bit as I really would love to take the family for a walk in this lovely park about 5 minutes away, it has a wonderful 2 mile walkway around a lovely lake (man-made unfortunately, we are talking about Houston, but sometimes we just have to look at beauty in a different way, or with different eyes).
Maybe see you again tomorrow!
