Wishing you a Monster Birthday

I still needed to use the last sketch from the current Hero Arts Contest, and I decided to make it masculine too, but for a younger generation!  I was totally inspired by Shari's card HERE.

Paper: PTI Cardstock; Neenah Solar White
Ink: Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Spiced Marmalade & Walnut Stain Distress Inks; Memento Tuxedo Black; Versamark; Copic Markers
Stamps: Hero Arts (CG298; CL391; S5507)
Other: Spellbinders Die; Glossy Accents; Eyelets; Clear embossing powder; Googly eye

It was so nice to make a lighthearted card! I thoroughly enjoyed the process.

This started off as white cardstock which I then cut using my Spellbinders Die.  I then stamped the top two thirds with one of the little monsters using Versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then inked up that portion with Shabby Shutters for that emboss resist look.  I inked up the bottom third with some Spiced Marmalade and stamped the Life of the Party Dots using Walnut Stain.

Next I created the sentiment strip by first rounding off the corners, and then inking with Tumbled Glass distress ink and stamping the Envelope Stamp over it with some darker blue, Broken China.  I stamped the sentiment differently than what it is in the set by using some post-it-notes to mask off my strip so as not to get unwanted ink anywhere.  I then added the 3 eyelets.

Lastly I stamped and coloured my monster, added some glossy accents here and there, and one googly eye for fun!

I hope you enjoy looking at this card as much as I enjoyed making it!  Thanks for taking a peek!

This is adorable, Brenda! I love that you made your own patterned paper up top and the one googly eye really makes that monster pop.
