I don't know whose birthday it is but I wanted to highlight one of the girls in my card as the birthday girl, and if there was no way to paper piece her I was going to find another way....
Paper: Cardstock (PTI & Paper Studio); Neenah Solar White
Ink: Pumice Stone DI; Tombow markers; Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps: Hero Arts
Other: Ribbon (Recollections)
This card took me way too long, not to actually make it, but to sit and think about it! I wanted the girl on the right to be the birthday girl and I needed to figure out a way of making the viewer know that. First I tried to wrap my head around maybe paper piecing her and nearly decided to stamp her on the reverse side of some patterned paper, but then the dress most likely would have been reversed. So I ditched that idea.
Finally, I inked my stamp with Pumice Stone and then very carefully wiped off the ink on her dress and basically coloured that part of the stamp with my Tombow yellow marker, and voila! The rest is history and definitely does not require an explanation.
I seem to be more willing to explore a little more with my stamping lately, (like my curtain card before), and not as concerned about making errors (so I say, until I actually do make a mess and then I will probably be mad with myself!). Gosh, I hope there are no Psychologists visiting my blog, they would have a field day trying to look deep into why I am this way! No offencse!
Ok, off I go to have a small bite to eat, and then maybe post another card! Thank you for making the time to visit, I totally cherish it!

Hi Brenda, this is so sweet and your idea has worked perfectly, love the Birthday girl in her yellow dress.
Beautiful, Brenda!!! Love how you worked out that dress, and Pumice Stone works so well with yellow!!!
Brenda, I had a good laugh over your psychological assessment of card making. I am the same way with some cards I make and then they don't even turn out! LOL This is so lovely! The bits of yellow spanning across the card is perfect, resulting in that beautiful yellow dress.
A wonderful solution to your "problem"! I love these colors and it is definitely a great birthday card, Brenda.
I think it's absolutely brilliant to color in the image! Such a gorgeous card and your recipient will cherish it!
Brilliant idea, Brenda! Love your birthday girl!
So pretty Brenda! I like how you have the birthday girl in yellow! I thought of another way tot do it as reading your thought process! I've seen other's color it in on top of the ink with colored pencils! :>
What a cute idea to highlight the birthday girl Brenda. Lovely colour scheme.
Love how you create your own perspective on each and every card, Brenda! I love reading all the stories behind every card. Great colour choice of yellow and grey and love the ribbon across the card too!
You crack me up Brenda! I would hate to have a psychologist analyze my thought processes when I make cards too:) You got a beautiful result on this card!
