A Little Bit About Me, and a Card

I have been having such fun, and giggles, reading some of the comments you are leaving me, and I thought perhaps I could answer some of the questions I have had here, which are really all about me! So funny!

Well, I am actually French, born in the north of France, a long, long time ago....ok, kidding, but sort of long ago!  My father was French and my Mother is South African.  They met in South Africa where he was working at the time and he brought her over to France.  We then immigrated to South Africa in 1972, when I was very, very young.....ok, seriously, I was young, almost 10. (Oh!  Now you know my age!  Oh well, it's ok, I feel great for my age, 21 is very young!  Right!).

I spent the rest of my life there really, with a stay in Swaziland for about a year, and I also came back to France for about a year and a half but just could not stand the weather in the north.

Then, one glorious day, whilst visiting a friend, I heard very loud voices coming from her garden, and one of those loud voices I can now happily call my husband!  And guess what, he is from the US!  But he was working in Africa.  Work brought him, and therefore us, my beautiful Natasha and I, to the US in April last year.  So, that's the geography around my life, but with lots of other interesting escapades to fabulous and interesting places in between, but I will leave that for another day.

As this blog was created to share my love of card making, here is a card I made for my sister in South Africa, whom I miss more than words could possibly explain.

Paper: PTI Cardstock, Neenah Solar White, Hero Arts Notecard
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Worn Lipstick & Tattered Rose & Peeled Paint Distress Ink
Stamps: Hero Arts (Hydrangea), Ali Edwards (Sentiments)
Other: Gems (Hero Arts), sewing

Nothing fancy, but I love that I managed to find the perfect sentiment for the way I was feeling that day.  I made that sentiment up from two different stamp sets.  The card shape (Surprise Pop Up Card) is also something different which I learned when I received an awesomely cute card from Kelly.  The tutorial can be found at Splitcoaststampers.

Thank you for popping by!  I may be back later!  Have an awesome day!

Brenda, amongst others I bet you giggled because I thought you spoke good English... I wonder how your French is? Silly question, bet its 100 times better than mine. Your card is gorgeous - the polka dot background is a great highlight for the focal image.
