Friendships

I am sure I have said this before, but it's worth saying again, the ladies over on the Hero Arts Flickr Group are just too amazing!  Not only are they awesomely talented crafters, but they are really special friends!  Yesterday was my birthday and never in my entire life have I received so many birthday wishes! 44 Birthday Wishes!  How crazy and wonderful is that?!  And of course that is not counting wishes from family and other friends!  Oh boy, it has really touched me!

So, for all of you fantastic ladies out there, and you know who you are, here is a little card:

Paper: Hero Arts Notecard and Layering paper; Neenah Solar White, Making Memories patterned paper
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tattered Rose & Shabby Shutters Distress Ink, Copic Markers
Stamps: Hero Arts (CL342 & K5431 Tall Flower)
Other: PTI Edgers #1 Die, PTI Mat Stack I Die and Eyelet Lace Border Die, Corner Chomper, Pearls (Hero Arts)

I did use the current OWH Sketch #56 as a guide.

We only arrived in the US last year April, and I am sure that some of you must know what it feels like to have to restart a home, later in life, when you have established your circle of friends.  Plus, leaving your family behind is no fun.  So, it can be a challenge, but this love of card making and the fact that I got to "meet" all of you and that I also get to "chat" to you in a vitual way, that has helped to take out some of the lumps and bumps in this road that we are travelling.  Thank you!  A card and a few words is such a feeble way to say thank you, but I hope that you can appreciate what you are adding to my life!

Oh Brenda, I am touched by your words. It must be so hard to up roots and move to another country, i don't know if I would have the courage to do that. I am so glad that your card making has helped you settle in to your new life. I agree that the flickr group is the best group ever, I love it and have to visit daily or I get serious withdrawel symptons. The group of friends we all have is the best in the world.

So happy that all the flickr birthday wishes touched you so! The flickr group really is the best! I hope that this year is a great one for you! I hope that as you settle more into life in the US you get more roots and friends over here! By the way I must admit I am so curious as to what made you move! Love your card, I like how you used the die!

Thank you for making this special card for all of us! As I've moved many times myself, I can understand how difficult it is to adjust to a new home and having difficulties making friends. Soaking myself into the cards and bags making have helped me to keep myself busy!
