Hero Arts Valentine Card Exchange

Anita over at the Hero Arts Flickr group organised another card exchange amongst friends and this time the theme was Valentine.  I just heard last night that Gail received the card I made her so I am happy to post it here.  This time I decided to go with a Shabby Chic look after finding this beautiful Digi on TwoPeas from Hero Arts, and also to attempt using a ribbon (I cannot tie nice bows for the life of me).  So, here it is, and all I can say is thank you for crinkle ribbon!

Paper: Rustic White cardstock by PTI, Patterned Paper (Making Memories)
Ink: Tattered Rose & Vintage Photo Distress Inks
Stamps: Hero Art (VIntage Hearts Digi Kit), Unity (To The Moon)
Other: Crinkle Ribbon, Pearls from my stash, Pearl pin from my stash, PTI Edgers Die #1

I first adhered a piece of gorgeous patterned paper to the lower portion of the card base.  I stamped the bottom of the centre panel with a stamp from the Unity January Kit of the Month in Tattered Rose.  I then used PTI's new Edgers die to create that one soft border.  I cut out two hearts from the Hero Art Digital Kit, (these hearts are so beautiful!), and I inked then with Tattered Rose and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. I then sewed around each heart and adhered them onto the panel. I also inked the edges of the panel with Vintage Photo.

I dyed the crinkle ribbon using some Tattered Rose Distress ink mixed with water in a spritzer.  What I like about this ribbon is that it does not have that perfect look, which for me is just great, there is no pressure because the bow does not look 100% perfect!  I added a pin and a few gems to complete the look.

I decided not to stamp a sentiment because there are beautiful words on both the little hearts and I think that they spoke for themselves.  I really like the end result, it's feminine and conveys a message of caring, which is what I was looking for.  I hope Gail enjoys it!

Thank you for passing by my blog, and leaving all your beautiful messages and all your well wishes for my race tomorrow!  YOU are the greatest!
