Operation Write Home - Be My Valentine Bloghop!!!

Today is the day we have all been waiting for!  Yeh! You should have arrived from Tara's blog at Dreamscapes, http://maritimuz.blogspot.com/.  If you have you lost your way, I would hate for you to miss out on any talent, so just make your way back to the beginning, OWH Stars and Stamps Blog, and go from there.  Everybody is looking for some LOVE today, so please leave your loving comments as you hop, hop, hop!

This blog hop is dedicated to Valentine's cards for our heros to send to their loved ones, big and small.  Here are some ideas to get you going and creating:

This first card was made with a daughter in mind.  It could be sent by a mom or a dad to a child.  As you can see the design is extremely simplistic, the patterned paper and the little girl stamp have centre stage!

Paper: Unknown patterned paper, Cardstock (PTI), Neenah Solar White
Stamp: Hero Arts
Ink: Fired Brick Distress Ink, Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black.
Other: Mat Stack #4 Die (PTI), Eyelet Lac Border Die (PTI)

This second card has a more mature romantic feel to it, meant to be exchanged between adults!  Again, just using some pretty patterned paper for the background. (Sorry I cannot give you the manufacturer details, but I used to throw all that extra informtion out, before becoming a blogger, now I know better). The butterfly was stamped using distress ink on watercolour paper and spritzed with pearlized water just before stamping.  The one wing is popped up with dimensional adhesive.

Paper: Unknown Patterned Paper, Neenah Solar White, Watercolour Paper
Stamps: Hero Arts
Ink: Worn Lipstick & Tea Dye Distress Inks,
Other: Random pearls

Here is the last card from me for today!  This one was one of those that I vividly saw in my mind about two days ago and walked around literally for two days thinking of all the details!

The rose is from Darkroom Door and it was stamped on PTI's Rustic White Cardstock (love it) using embossing ink and then setting it with clear embossing powder.  I then inked the panel with Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Distress inks, wiped off any excess from the actual stamped image, and added a little bit of Vintage Photo around the edges.

The sentiment was created using a Close To My Heart and Hero Arts alphabet stamp set, as well as Tiny Type sticker letters from Cosmo Cricket.  A litttle bit if twine from The Twinery and some gemstones from Hero Arts and my vision came to life!  Love it when a plan comes together!

Paper: PTI
Stamps: Darkroom Door, Hero Arts, CTMH
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Fired Brick & Peeled Paint & Vintage Photo Distress inks
Other: Twine (The Twinery), Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphabet stickers, Gemstones (HA)
Please remember that the deadline for submitting Christmas Cards to OWH has passed.  OWH is now collecting for Valentines Day, and that deadline is the 7th of January 2011, so you have some time to share the Love!

Also, don't forget to vote at Joanns , you can do this daily until the 4th of December.  The winning charity will receive a wopping $50,000 donation!!!

Ok, so now you need to hop along and visit Christy at Lone Pine Designs to see her magnificent creation/s.  And don't forget to leave her a comment!

Thank you so much for passing by, I hope you enjoyed what you saw and that it has inspired you!  Wishing you an awesome Saturday!

LOVE all of your wonderful projects! Gotta share though - your first card with the little girl? if your look directly to the right of her, your circle border lands right on a heart that makes a face that looks like those plastic glasses with the nose and mustache attached! LMBO. Totally made me laugh - it's like one of those pictures where you have to find the actual image in the pixels or perhaps making shapes out of clouds!! FAB!

Nice variety of cards. It's easy to get stuck on one type, but there's a great variety in the recipients of these cards.
