For That Special Person

This card was made for that very special person in my life, more details on that next week!

Paper: Cardstock (PTI), Watercolour paper, Neenah Solar White
Stamps: Hero Arts, Micia (sentiment)
Ink: Faded Jeans, Pumice Stone, Brushed Corduroy & Black Soot Distress Inks, Clear Embossing Ink, Versamark

I loved making this card!  I had a clear image of it in my mind and just went with it.  A lot of sentimental wording will go inside, straight from the heart, the way it should be!

I first stamped the Old Letter Writing stamp in Pumice Stone on watercolour paper.  Then I overstamped that with the Large Canvas Stripe background stamp using clear embossing ink.  I wiped away a few areas of the ink before stamping so that it could look more rugged.  I then heat embossed it.

Next was more inking using Brushed Corduroy and an ink blending tool, this is the emboss resist which Jennifer McGuire explains so well in her Thinking Inking Vidoes on Two Peas.

After that I stamped the Fabulous Flourish stamp, from Hero Arts, using the Black Soot, and I wanted it to not be too dark, so I am glad it turned out that way even though it was most likely because I did not press firmly enough on the stamp!  Somethimes little "mistakes" actually can work in your favour!  Now!  Please, if you do this, you need lots of patience as the ink stayed wet a very long time in the places where it was over the embossed stripes.

I stamped the butterfly using Faded Jeans on watercolur paper, and then I spritzed the paper with pearlized water before cutting it out.  The butterfly was partially adhered with dimensional dots.  The sentiment, an old one I have from Micia, was stamped on white cardstock with black Versamark ink, and the edges were inked with Brushed Corduroy before being adhered.

I hope you like this one as much as I do!

I also want to thank Hero Arts for commenting about my last card on Twitter!  How awesome was that!  Quite a few people came to visit yesterday!
