Christmas Tag

Hi everyone!  What a bloghop with OWH yesterday!!!  I am still trying to recover, there were 108 blogs to hop to, and I still have a few more to visit!  The creations were absolutely wonderful!

Today was a physically challenging morning!  I ran a 25km road race, my first in 10 years!  Boy, 25km is far!  However, the weather was perfectly cool and the race well organised, and, I was very happy with my time!

This afternoon I felt like making a Christmas tag which will go all the way to South Africa to my niece.  I still need to make 2 more, for both my nephews, and they will each have a pocket at the back to put some money in there for them.  As they are older, they prefer to get money so that they can save towards something that they really want.  So these boy tags, which I will post as soon as they are made, will be to hang on the Christmas tree!

Ok, here is the one for my beautiful niece...(The To and From will be at the back of the tag)

Paper: Office tag (Office Depot), Cardstock (PTI), watercolour paper, Neenah Solar White cardstock, random patterned paper (paper piecing)
Stamps: Hero Arts
Ink: Embossing ink, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics, Peeled Paint and Fired Brick Distress Inks
Other: Christmas Tree Die (PTI), glitter, twine (The Twinery), Ribbon from my stash, sewing, clear embossing powder

I first stamped the tag with the Hero Arts Flourish Pine background stamp using embossing ink.  I then applied clear embossing powder and heated it.  This was then inked with the Peeled Paint and Fired Brick Distress inks (emboss resist technique).

Next I cut out the Christmas Tree using a PTI die and sewed in zig-zag fashion across the tree.  I applied some glue and added glitter.  I also inked the tree edges with Peeled Paint.  This was then adhered to the tag.

The little girl was stamped and coloured in with copics.  Her shorts and her shirt were stamped seperately on different patterned paper, cut out and paper pieced back onto her body.   I used dimensional dots for the shirt.  She was then adhered to the tree/tag.

The sentiment from Hero Arts was stamped on a sturdy piece of watercolour paper, inked with Fired Brick Distress ink and adhered using dimensional dots.

Lastly I threaded the ribbon through the tag and tied it off with some twine.

Not something to mass produce!  So thank goodness that I tend to never make more than 2 of the same thing, even that is very rare, I just cannot bring myself to do it.  I like everyone to get something very unique.

So that's me for tonight as I am just a tad tired after this morning and I want to spend some QT with my hubby who has been away for almost two weeks!

Hope to share with you again tomorrow!  Wishing you a wonderful evening and thank you for popping by.
