Aloha! Birthday invitations

My gorgeous niece, Megan, turns 9 very soon, and I offered to make the invitations, thought it would be fun.  As my Mom is visiting at the moment, she can take them back with her to South Africa and they can still get out in time.

So, the theme is Hawaii!  Never been to Hawaii!!!  The closest I have come to it is via Magnum PI!!!! Oh Dear! Hopefully that was an accurate enough depiction of Hawaii on that program!  I had great fun using the "Let's Chill" stamp set from Hero Arts!  Here are a few pictures:

I managed this in true production line style as there was a lot of measuring, cutting and corner chomping to be done, oh, and sewing!  All the cardstock is from PTI, love these colours for this theme!
I clear embossed that flower in the top corner.

A little bit of sewing to create the pocket at the bottom that holds the actual invitation.
The little birdie has some glossy accents on her glasses, looks really COOL as my niece would say!  And I have adhered the bird with dimensional adhesive.
The "Aloha" comes from a $1 stamp set found at Michaels.

I added a few dots of glossy accents to the drinking glass to symbolise water droplets on the outside of the glass!

Paper: Carstock (PTI), Patterned Paper by Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
Stamps: Hero Arts, $1 bin at Michaels (Aloha)
Ink: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Other: Glossy Accents, Sewing

Thank you for popping by!  Tomorrow is the OWH Valentine Blog Hop, hope to see you pass through!
Have a great Friday!
