For Day 6 of the Clean & Simple Cards class we were offered a number of sketches and the girls shared various techniques, namely: Tone-on-Tone, Patchwork Stamping and Creative Masking.
I decided to go with Jennifer's Patchwork Stamping which I have never tried before. I think as long as you have a nice solid stamp image and colours that compliment one another you are good to go. I used a lovely stamp from a Stampin' Up set called My Friend for this card.
Paper: cardstock (PTI); Neenah
Ink: Memento (Dandellion, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Morocco); Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps: Stampin' Up (My Friend); Hero Arts (Everyday Sayings)
Other: Ribbon (May Arts)
I used strips of post-it notes to mask off the vaious layers while stamping and it worked just fine. For the sentiment strip I wanted the colour to co-ordinate so I simply swiped my one ink pad across the paper before stamping the sentiment. I also cut around the one flower so that it could stick out a bit. I don't think I have tried that before either.
These lessons have been great, and I have found that I have learned a new little something each day.
That's it from me for today. I hope that you are having a crafty day.
